Pakachoag is a member of the United Church of Christ United Church of Christ, which is a denomination comprised of 6,100 churches and 1.4 million members organized into 39 regional bodies.
The Massachusetts Conference of the UCC is one of the largest groupings within the UCC. The Conference website states that "We are a gathering of 411 churches with over 90,000 members, making us the largest Protestant denomination in Massachusetts. Our roots go back to the Puritans and Pilgrims who founded this country, making us the Commonwealth's oldest denomination."
The Worcester Area Mission Society, was the outgrowth of a movement that focused on alleviating the social ills of the poorer, immigrant, and industrial working classes. More than 100 years old, WAMS was the founding body for a number of Worcester churches, including Pakachoag in Auburn. WAMS has developed many new and innovative initiatives under the leadership of the Rev. Robert Bachelder, President and Minister since 1984. Pakachoag is a partner in one of these, Worcester Community Resources.
Heifer Project International helps people the world over obtain a sustainable source of food and income. Overlook Farm is a Heifer Project education center and working farm located in Rutland, MA, 20 miles north of Auburn.
