with 3:30 pm pre-concert talk given by Lynn Dobson.
Renowned organist Patricia Snyder and prominent organ builder Lynn Dobson join us in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Pakachoag Church’s Dobson organ.
Ms. Snyder presents a varied program of works highlighting the versatility of Massachusetts’ only Dobson Organ and its unique acoustic environment in the Great Hall at Pakachoag Church. The program will be preceded by a 30-minute talk given by the instrument’s builder Lynn A. Dobson, President and Artistic Director of Dobson Pipe Organ Builders, Ltd. The concert will be followed by a reception where audience members will have the opportunity to meet both the performer and builder.
About the Dobson Organ, Opus 69
The organ at Pakachoag was built and installed in 1997 by Dobson Pipe Organ Builders, Ltd. of Lake City, Iowa and was designed for a relatively small (seating capacity 200), but acoustically live, room. The organ is a robust two manual, mechanical key action, electric stop action instrument that is large enough to support a full range of recital literature, in addition to fulfilling its roles as a service and teaching instrument.
